Dr. Nader Hamdan, BDS, MSc, MDENT(Perio), FRCD(C), Diplomate ABP
Dr. Hamdan is currently an Assistant Professor and Director of the Graduate Periodontics Program at Dalhousie University. Dr. Hamdan passed both components of the Canadian National Dental Specialty Examination and was certified as a periodontist and later became Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (FRCD(C)) in periodontics. He also passed the examinations of the American Board of Periodontology and became Diplomate of the American Board in Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery.
Dr. Hamdan enjoys sharing knowledge through lecturing both nationally and internationally and giving CDE courses. He has also published papers in high-impact peer review journals, co-authored book chapters and has conducted research projects of vital importance in the field of periodontics and implant dentistry. Dr. Hamdan is also proud to be the co-author of the world’s first Health Technology Assessment Book on Mandibular Two-Implant Overdenture and has recently submitted his section for a new book entitled: “Periodontal Complications in Implantology: A Clinical Guide to Diagnosis and Management” that is expected to be published soon.
As a double board-certified periodontist, Dr. Nader Hamdan’s practice provides a variety of evidence-based surgical and non-surgical services, including dental implant surgery and soft and hard tissue reconstructions. Dr. Hamdan’s practice is limited to periodontics. He will contact referring dentists with a consultation report after every consultation. All patients referred to receive treatment by Dr. Hamdan at Big Smiles Dental Centre will be referred back to their referring dentist for any dental services not directly requested in the referral.
In his spare time, Dr. Hamdan enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He also enjoys travelling, hiking, volleyball and chess.
